After arriving in Paris, the rest of the day is free to spend as you please.
Today you’ll have the chance to take one of the sightseeing buses around Paris.
Other optional activities available are:
1- Priority Eiffel Tower tour tickets to the top deck for just $83!
2- 3 hour guided evening ‘after hours’ tour of the Louvre with an additional cost of just $89!
Today you can explore Paris at your own pace or even take a trip to Versailles with an additional amount of $96 along with hotel pick up and drop off facilities. You’ll spend your last evening sipping champagne and digging in to a charcuterie board during a boat trip on the River Seine. Feast your eyes upon the stunning views of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night.
Make your way to the train station to catch the train to Bordeaux where, upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to your hotel for the next three nights and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
An optional excursion is available only for extra $54, involving a 45-minute tour of Bordeaux’s highlights by vintage 2CV car.
Today will be spent learning all about Bordeaux’s many different wines, split into three components:
The tasting class will teach you how to taste wine in the proper way, practicing with glasses of red and white wine. After that, you’ll sample four different wines from France’s four main wine regions, gaining an insight into the diversity of French wines and mastering elegant concepts such as ‘terroir’ and ‘appellation’.
You’ll also see how they blend wines in Bordeaux by creating your own cuvée. Cap it off with an aperitif before hunkering down over a traditional lunch at the Bordovino Apartment.
And last but not least, spend the afternoon getting to know the vineyards of Saint Emilion village, classified on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Saint Emilion is a charming town with a medieval atmosphere and home to two chateaux: a great Classified Estate and a beautiful family-run estate – the epitome of French elegance.
Along the way, listen as your friendly local guide explains the wine making process and end the tour with a tasting.
Luckily for you, Bordeaux is one of the few French towns that have that successful blend of history, tradition, architecture, wine and food – all under one roof.
This optional tour is from 9.15 am-1.15 pm and will see you visit some of the places where local delicacies are produced with an additional cost of just $94 pp!
9 am – meet your guide at Bordovino Apartment in Bordeaux’s center. Your day kicks off at a bakery near the cathedral – smell the scent of the fluffy bread fresh out of the oven.
Next, visit Bordeaux’s most famous chocolatier, Thierry, in his shop where recipes have been passed down through generations. He’ll let you taste a range of different flavored chocolate, including ginger, green tea and olive.
Before lunch, head to a cheese shop where you’ll learn about the characteristics and flavors of famous cheeses like Roquefort, Brie, Comté and many more.
Your gourmet food tour will end with lunch at Bordovino Apartment. Hunker down over a buffet in the dining room of a building dating back to the 18th century – you’ll be able to eat some of the products you bought earlier, as well as some cannelés: these are traditional little local cakes. Lunch will of course be served with the wine from the region.
