Kenya bush, beaches, & cities

Kenya bush, beaches, & cities

During this ten days African adventure, you'll experience Kenya in all its glory, hopping from the cities of Nairobi and Mombasa to the rolling plains of the Maasai Game Reserve and Lake Nakuru National Park.

Kenya is a bold, unparalleled, and majestic land where beasts roam, birds soar, and plants glitter beneath the glare of the African sun. Wedged between Somalia to the northeast and Tanzania to the south, Kenya is widely recognized as a hotspot for wildlife viewing and safaris, offering visitors an unforgettable glimpse into how the local animals operate in their natural habitat.

Once you've touched down in Kenya, your first stop will be Nairobi, the undisputed safari capital of Africa. On the second day of your trip, you'll head to Maasai Mara. Fantastic creatures await you in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve (the northern extension of the Serengeti), whose rolling plains form a playground for the "Big Five"; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes. These breath-taking beasts will stalk their prey or frolic playfully before your eyes, doing so to a soundtrack of chirps from some 470 different species of birds that are present in the Maasai Mara. Keep your eyes peeled for leopards and cheetahs during your safari drives, as well. And prepare for the guide to talk your ear off about all these beautiful species.

After Maasai Mara visits Lake Nakuru National Park, which hosts the largest population of rhinos, as well as vast colonies of flamingos, which often turn the shores as a bright shade of pink. You'll get to stay overnight in this glorious park, and will give you plenty of time to marvel at the Makalia waterfalls and spot Thomson gazelles, impalas, leopards, and buffaloes lurking in the thicket.

Next, you'll spend a full four days in the enchanting metropolis of Mombasa, Kenya's second-largest city whose border with the Indian Ocean makes for some out-of-this-world beaches, spellbinding marine life and high-end hotel stays. Lest you are bound to a strict itinerary, your time in Mombasa can spend according to you (with the option of a city tour available if you so desire). Whether you choose to meander around the Old Town, try your hand at bird watching at Mtwapa Creek or catch the latest Bollywood smash hit at the Nyali Theater, Mombasa has something to please everyone in your party. It is also home to golden, sandy beaches and swaying palms – perfect for anyone who puts R and R at the top of their holiday priority list!
